Artist's Description

For some reason over the years this barn had drawn me to its presence. I have photographed it in the brutal subzero winds of winter as well as the heat and humidity of summer. One August morning, I was slowly passing nearby and couldn't help but visualize this barn in the fog. I had brought along a six foot step ladder in my truck just in case I would need it. I'm glad that I did as I placed the ladder in a spot in the field that frequent rains had washed out earlier in the growing season. I climbed to the top of the ladder. I carefully balanced myself on the top, I looked out and loved what I saw. I was able to create this photograph of the barn being enshrouded by the August morning fog but from a viewpoint above the corn.

About Dylan Punke

Dylan Punke

Lover of Life and Light. I tend to be a natural observer and often a quiet man. I am thankful for being alive and for the experiences that I have had and am able to continue to share. My "formal" photography training consists of two, one day courses in junior high on basic dark room procedures. Since then, I have learned through direct experimentation and observation of the world around me. My style has been shaped over the years by being immersed in the world and observing the life that is dancing around in the light. It’s quite fascinating! Most of my works are a combination of original color and black and white. I think an accurate term for this is digital desaturation as I utilize a digital program to desaturate (remove) color...
