A soybean filled grain truck sits ready to head down a country lane as a John Deere combine travels down the perpendicular road. Harvest memories is a dual title for me on this one. On one hand, it is the time of harvesting the grain and the emptying of the field and the movement of the combine suggest that this season is moving and away in the long horizon light. On another more personal note, harvest memories is a gathering of my heritage and roots the past for me on this one. The land that this grain truck sits on is multigenerational in the family and the accompanying farmstead is the childhood home of my father, half of my roots and heritage. Although the times and equipment have changed, I still gather an appreciation and connection with my ancestors that came before me.
