I ventured to Michigan's UP for an art festival in Marquette and the days after I explored the Keweenaw Peninsula, in hopes of a peaceful inspiring place as well as birch trees. I found both but instead of an upright birch tree, I came across this one washed up on the shore of Lake Superior, near Eagle River, Michigan. I was amazed by it. The colors from the decaying bark in Superior's chilly water and the linear peelings of the bark shone beautifully in the sun. Anticipating the waves, I perched down close and created "Water & Birch." This piece is great on luster photographic paper. With its abstract qualities, it is stunning on aluminum.
Lover of Life and Light. I tend to be a natural observer and often a quiet man. I am thankful for being alive and for the experiences that I have had and am able to continue to share.
